Northwest Anthony Henday Officially Opens with ATS Manufactured Signs
November 1st, 2011 marked the much anticipated opening of the northwest leg of Anthony Henday Drive from Yellowhead Trail in the west to Manning Drive in the northeast, promising relief for thousands of Edmonton and area commuters.  Alberta Traffic Supply manufactured approximately 3,050 m² (32,830 ft²) of extruded aluminum overhead and ground mounted directional/information guide signs for this project.  This 21 km stretch of Edmonton’s ring road has completed 90 percent of the freeway which now accounts for 69 km of free-flow traffic.  The final northeast leg of the ring road, from Manning Drive through Clover Bar to Highway 16, is expected to begin construction next summer. Upon completion in 2016, Anthony Henday Drive will be the first free-flowing orbital road in Canada.  An estimated 40,000 motorists use Anthony Henday Drive daily.
